This blog has about a hundred Alexander related posture and breathing tips. I started it in March 2010 and added a post every week for about two years. After that I slowed down and now I think I have stopped for a while. I hope you scroll down look around so that you can find some tips that you like. You can also receive one of these tips every week as an email if you join the Weekly Tip mailing list. And if you are looking for new(er) posts, check out the ones my students are writing on the Students’ Blog
I love your weekly tips, especially those that advise proper neck allignment and my daily neck pain.
Could you provide a tip for those of us who have neck pain and play court games such as pickle ball. I try to keep my neck alligned with my back but when receiving a serve I notice I tend to look up and my head falls back. Any tips?
I’m a Tai chi practitioner for more than 30years (and almost as long a fibromyalgie patient) Because of my condition, I got interested in everything involving movement and body-mechanics and -dynamics. A few years ago the Alexander technique caught my attention. I started reading books and followed a series of AT lessons and started incorporating what I learned in my Tai chi practice. Surfing on the www I bumped in to this website and subscribed for the weekly tips and video’s which today are my major practical source of body-alignement and -balancing knowhow. I truly believe that AT is one of the most profound and effective methods that can create a lasting positive effect for people struggling with more or less severe structural physical problems of various origins. The compactness and simplicity of your tips make the AT accessible to everyone and that is definitely a good thing. So, dear mr. Leland Vall thanks a lot for these beautiful practical pearls of information. Sincerely yours
