For improved walking, lead with the crown of your head instead of your chin or chest.

This video about improved walking comes from Tip 25. Leading with your chin tends to push the neck forward. Leading with the crown of your head will help you feel less tense and you will walk more easily. The crown is the highest point on your head that is just behind your ears.

I really love the tips. I have the book, The Secret to Using Your Body, and it’s a great book. But it’s very helpful to see the tips in a video format. Thanks, Leland.

  2. Thanks M, and sorry for the late reply. It is my hope that people will use the manual and the tips together. They are very different but they compliment each other. The manual is a long, process oriented approach while the tips are a quick answer.

while leading with crown beware of not lost connection with
    neck
    head
    eyes
    torso
    knees
    feet
since, they works as a whole.

The ‘alexander respiration reeducation technique’ is not a sole property of artists, performers, athelets etc.

It is the property of chronic patients, acute patients, poor people and for every body.

Please dont separate the technique between the genaral people VS specific people

    What is neck free?
Ans@ the sensation of the neck f.m sensed with stimulus of walk sit, walk, bend etc.

What is head forward and up?
Ans@ not doing back and down of head with daily stimulus.

What is back lengthen and widen?
Ans@ where are the hip joints?
Ans@just above the sitting bones at the front of the pelvis.

The sensation f.m. Sensed with neck free and head forward and up and the back(torso) moves from the hip joints,
    SURE
leads the knees forward from the hip joints, is back(torso) lengthen and widen.

No option, The poor PITY shoulder clavicle arms, settles at their resting position naturally .

The f.m. Wishpered ah likes these directions.

    Is this correct?

  7. Chinnari

    Use the head

    or

With stimulus of sit, stand, walk, bend think of neck going back head going forward and up and back(torso) going back and up and knees going away from hips(torso) and base of the feet into the ground and shoulders going out to the side and arms lengthening ,’one after the other all together’ , DAILY.

    ‘BEWARE OF end-gain’.
